Ravoire Cote Rotie AOP
Add to favouritesThe Ravoire Côte-Rôtie AOP (often released under the Olivier Ravoire or Maison Ravoire labels) is a premium, flagship red wine from the Northern Rhône Valley in France. It is highly regarded for its concentrated depth, complex aromatics, and structure.
Tasting Notes:
-
- Appearance: Deep, intense ruby red.
- Nose: Highly aromatic and smoky, showing expressive notes of violets, black plum, blackcurrant, and cacao, framed by a striking stone minerality.
- Palate: Concentrated and full-bodied yet balanced by silky, velvety tannins. Expect dominant flavours of black pepper, vanilla, and sweet spices leading into a long finish.
Food Pairing & Service:
- Ideal Matches: This heavy, complex wine requires robust, rich food. It pairs excellently with venison, wild boar stew, rib of beef, or roasted lamb. Earthy, truffle-infused pastas or aged Comté cheese also complement its smoky profile.
- Serving Temperature: Best served at 16°C to 18°C. Decanting is highly recommended for younger vintages to let the tightly wound aromatics open up.
