  This has juicy, soft fruit with hints of black cherries and plums. Attractive, easy going wine from Emilia-Romagna.

• Carlomagno Primitivo Appassimento IGP — x 2

  This powerful, rich wine is full-bodied with aromas of over-ripe cherries, summer fruits, plum spices and chocolate.  On the palate, are flavours of dried and black fruits with hints of spice; finishing with an excellent balance.

• Rupe Secca Nero D’Avola DOC Sicilia — x 2

  This intense, smooth wine is full of ripe red berry aromas and flavours supported by soft tannins.

  This wine if perfect for drinking with pasta dishes but also on its own.

   

  The vineyards lie in the hills of the Riesi area, between Ragusa and Agrigento, on the northern Gela plane.  Harvest normally takes place between the second part of September and early October.  The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed.  With the addition of selected yeasts, fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, not exceeding 28°C.  Frequent pumping over takes place in the early stages of fermentation in order to ensure optimum colour extraction and soft tannins.  After fermentation, the wine is racked and the malolactic fermentation takes place in order to obtain perfect balance and harmony.

• Conte de Castelvecchio Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC — x 2

  This wine is medium-bodied with a strong fruity bouquet and scents of red fruit and liquorice.  The finish is soft and well-balanced.

• Aglianico, Fremondo — x 1

  This dry red wine has a deep colour with garnet hints.  Cherry nuances melt with sweet vanilla notes given by aging in the wood.  In the mouth, it is full, powerful and intense with a light and soft tannic structure that enhances a good finish.

• Chianti DOCG Duca di Saragnano — x 1

  Intense and young purplish red.  The aroma is vinous and marked by hints of forest berries, cherries and spiced violets.  On the palate, it is dry, fresh and mouth-cleansing.  A superb match with roasted meats and cheese.

• Barbanera Rosso di Montepulciano DOC — x 1

  Aromatic and fruity, juicy and attractive on the palate with plenty of red and black fruit and soft tannins giving balance on the finish. Very attractive.

• Lonardi Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC — x 1

  This has lovely gentle aromas of fresh coffee, kirsch and the palate is very soft and delicate. Rich and fruit driven on the finish this is classic Italian elegance.
