  • Domaine de Tholomies AOP Minervois La Liviniere — x 1

This exceptional wine, with an intense deep-dark colour reflection, reveals an ample aromatic palette of peppered vanilla, morello cherry and prune with notes of black olive tapenade.  In the mouth, it is generous, smooth and concentrated, with matured tannins and notes of roasted coffee and dry fig.  Ideal with roasted meats, game or strong cheeses.  With a great aging potential, this wine can also be enjoyed now.

  • Château Siran, AOC Margaux — x 1

Château Siran has a history in the Mèdoc that dates back to 1428, making it one of the oldest estates in Margaux.  The property took its name from Saint Siran.  At one point in time, Château Siran was owned by the Toulouse Lautrec family.  The owners were the grandparents of the famous French Painter.  The 24.5 hectare Left Bank vineyard of Château Siran is planted to 46% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc.  Located in the southern part of  the Margaux appellation, the terroir is gravel and sand soils.  The vineyard has a vine density of 10,000 vines per hectare.  On average, the vines are kept for 30 years.

The 2014 Siran has a very refined bouquet with blackberry, briary and light tertiary aromas.  There is fine precision here, understated compared to the Sirans of old.  The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and a keen line of acidity.  Linear in style and a little conservative towards the finish, but showing freshness from start to finish. – Wine Advocate, Neal Martin: 91/100

Alluring black tea and singed sandalwood notes glide through, backed by accents of supple-edged cherry and plum preserves.  Offers a gentle but persistent finish.  Drink now through 2024. 7,917 cases made. – Wine Spectator: 89/100
